Programming in Java Advanced Imaging

THIS document introduces the Java Advanced Imaging API and how to program in it. This document is intended for serious programmers who want to use Java Advanced Imaging for real projects. To best understand this document and the examples, you need a solid background in the Java programming language and some experience with imaging. In addition, you will need a working knowledge of other Java Extension APIs, depending on your intended application:

* Java 2D for simple graphics, text, and fundamental image manipulation

Java Speech API Programmers Guide

The first three chapters of this guide provide an introduction to speech technology and to the Java Speech API.

Chapter 1, Introduction: This chapter introduces the Java Speech API, reviews the design goals for JSAPI, discusses the types of applications that JSAPI enables and discusses the requirements for using JSAPI.

Java Sound Programmer Guide

This guide is intended for three groups of readers:

* Application developers: software programmers who want to write JavaTM applications or applets using audio or MIDI. Most readers will fall into this category.

Java Media Framework API Guide

The JavaTM Media Framework (JMF) is an application programming interface (API) for incorporating time-based media into Java applications and applets. This guide is intended for Java programmers who want to incorporate time-based media into their applications and for technology providers who are interested in extending JMF and providing JMF plug-ins to support additional media types and perform custom processing and rendering.

Java 3D API Tutorial

The Java 3D API is a hierarchy of JavaTM classes which serve as the interface to a sophisticated three-dimensional graphics and sound rendering system. Java 3D provides high-level constructs to create and manipulate 3D geometry, and to build the structures used to render that geometry. Using this API, developers can efficiently create precise virtual universes in a wide variety of sizes, from astronomical to subatomic.

Java 3D API Specification

THIS document describes the Java 3D API, version 1.2, and presents some details on the implementation of the API. This specification is not intended as a programmer's guide.

This specification is written for 3D graphics application programmers. We assume that the reader has at least a rudimentary understanding of computer graphics. This includes familiarity with the essentials of computer graphics algorithms as well as familiarity with basic graphics hardware and associated terminology.
